Professor Noha Mellor

Scholarship grounded in two regions—and in professional practice.

I am Professor of Media at the University of Sharjah. I previously held a visiting professorship at Bournemouth University and an adjunct professorship at Stockholm University. Before moving to the UAE, I held academic posts at the universities of Bedfordshire, Kingston, East London, and Copenhagen.

My work draws on academic research and professional experience across the Middle East and Europe. Before entering academia, I worked as a journalist and producer for the BBC World Service and Danish Broadcasting Corporation.

Alongside publishing and teaching, I contribute to international debates on Arab media and advise academic, governmental, and media organizations. I have worked with the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oxford Analytica, and Middle East Broadcasting Networks.
